2013 Granite Peak Ski Excursion!

Join your favorite radio station 93XRT and DJ Johnny Mars on this full weekend trip to the biggest and best ski resort in the Midwest!  Windy City Ski has once again taken care of all of the work so you can simply enjoy the ride...and what a ride it will be!  We are whisking you away on our luxury charter coaches all the way to Granite Peak Ski Area in Wausau, Wisconsin for a weekend of skiing, riding and relaxing with your friends and favorite DJ from XRT!  Talk to any local skier or snowboarder and they will tell you that Granite Peak is taller and has more runs than any other resort in the Midwest. Over the past nine years, Granite peak has experienced the largest expansion ever in the Midwest, including a new base area with two chalets, gift shop, heated outdoor patio and fire ring!  Plus they have added seven new lifts including the COMET Express Chairlift, the longest/highest high-speed lift this side of the Rockies giving you speedy access to their 74 runs! Combine all of this with the luxury accommodations of the Courtyard Marriott, a private ski/snowboard shuttle for the weekend and hanging out with DJ Johnny Mars and you have a one of a kind ski and snowboard weekend! As we always do and our motto says, let us take care of the work....you just enjoy the ride!

Weekend Package Includes

• Ground Transportation: Roundtrip Charter Bus transportation from Chicago to the Courtyard Marriott in Wausau, Wisconsin. Buses will depart the intersection of Fullerton and Sheffield (parking ramp available at 2331 N. Sheffield for $12 per 24-hour period) Friday January 25th at 6:00pm and stop at the second pickup location at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg (1800 E Golf Rd) for a pickup between 6:45 and 7:15pm (traffic dependent) before heading to Wausau. Buses will return to the same locations Sunday January 27th between 8:30 and 9:15pm. Parking at the Schaumburg location is FREE FOR THE ENTIRE WEEKEND!
• Lodging: 2 Nights Lodging at the Courtyard Marriott in Wausau, Wisconsin
• Lift Ticket: 2 day lift ticket at Granite Peak Ski Area
• Ski/Snowboard Shuttle Service: Shuttle service with ski/snowboard storage from the hotel to mountain and back at multiple designated times throughout the weekend
• Daily Breakfast Buffet: Daily breakfast buffet exclusively for our group at the Courtyard Cafe, a Marriot bistro located in the hotel lobby
• Saturday Night Party: A Saturday night party hosted by DJ Johnny Mars
• Bus Refreshments: Windy City Ski will provide non-alcoholic refreshments on the bus to/from Wausau, Wisconsin including soda, water, juice, and energy drinks.

Resort: Lodging includes 2 days/2 nights at the Courtyard by Marriott.  The hotel features the cleanest and most spacious rooms in town with either one king and sofa or 2 Queen Beds. Relax in the indoor pool or whirlpool, or stay fit with the use of the exercise room. Enjoy the Customer-focused design that allows the guests to be more comfortable. Enjoy a daily breakfast buffet exclusively for our group at the new Marriott bistro, Courtyard Cafe.  The bistro also provides Starbucks coffee, dinner, and is full service for cocktails in the evening.  The hotel is located within 1 mile of many restaurants for dining enjoyment and next door to the Great Dane Pub and Brewery.

The Great Dane Pub and Brewery: The ultimate brewpub experience with extensive interiors and warm welcoming staff. The main bar room’s raised circular booths are a great spot for dining and people watching. The stylish pool hall bar overlooks two intimate lounge areas, fireplace, six TVs, plus billiards, shuffleboard, darts and other games. The main dining area includes comfortable “snug” booths and a private room with seating for up to twenty-four guests. If not, find your niche inside with “WAUSOME” views of the brewing tanks and enjoy the excellent products, service and atmosphere that make The Great Dane Pub & Brewing Company America’s quintessential brewpubs! Late night entertainment is also provided every weekend and is Wausau’s hot spot for night life and dancing!

Lift Tickets:  2 Day/Night lift ticket to Granite Peak Ski Resort 

Ski/Snowboard Shuttle:  Don't want to ski or snowboard all day?  We have arranged a ski/snowboard shuttle that will be running between the Couryard Mariott and Granite Peak Ski Area.  

Shuttle Schedule:

Saturday: 

Shuttle to Mountain - 8:15AM; 10:15AM

Return Shuttle - 5:00PM; 7:30PM; 9:30PM

Sunday: 

Shuttle to Mountain - 8:30AM; 10:30AM; 12:00PM

Return Shuttle - 3:30PM

Please Note: 

Rentals are not included in the package but are available from Granite Peak Ski Area.  Rentals can be reserved while checking out.  The price is $50 for the entire weekend and rentals will be picked up when you arrive at Granite Peak on Saturday morning.

Cancellations prior to 15 days before the trip will receive a full refund.  Cancelations between 5 and 15 days prior to the trip will receive a 50% refund.  Cancelations within 5 days of the trip will not receive a refund.  No shows will not receive a refund.
